Ross’ career spans more than 30 years in the valuation industry over a broad range of areas around the State of Western Australia. He joined IVWA as a Senior Valuer in 2005 and took over as Managing Director in 2011. His range of valuation experience includes rating and taxing valuations, market valuations and valuing specialised properties as well as the design and implementation of technological advances to assist property valuation processes and quality control.
With a passion for the continued development of the industry, Ross has been involved in many projects to this effect; providing valuation and land information to the Economics and Industry Standing Committee, representing the WA Valuer General on the WA Land Information Systems (WALIS) Council, providing valuation data and advice to the WA State Treasury and the Local Government Grants Commission, creating electronic sales mapping systems for the valuation and property industries and most recently assisting the State Administrative Tribunal in their Expert Witness Research Project.
Ross has taught Statutory Valuations to undergraduate, postgraduate and masters students at Curtin University, primarily focusing on compensation, rating and taxing, and strata titles. More recently, based on his previous experience, Ross was invited back and now regularly lectures on compensation valuations.
